Iron Man / Weezer Tribute - The Greatest Man That Ever Lived

Okay, so I think this video's pretty awesome, but I'm the one who made it, so you tell me. It's a tribute to Iron Man, in anticipation of Iron Man 2, with clips from the 2008 Jon Favreau film put to a shortened version of Weezer's "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived." (Warning: one scene within the first 20 seconds is very mildly NSFW, but there's no nudity and nothing that wasn't in the movie.)

Great Scenes: Airplane Party (Iron Man)

It might be a little fanboyish of me to follow the first "Great Scenes" article, in which I discussed the hermit scene from Bride of Frankenstein, with a scene from Iron Man, which is neither high-brow nor a classic, but I'll be honest with you: The Sci-Fi Block's probably going to be in Iron Man orgy mode this month in light of the sequel coming out on the 28th. So, I guess "Great Scenes" is as fine a point to dive in as any.

'Repo Men' vs. 'Repo! The Genetic Opera': Which is Better?

Repo Men came out this past weekend, and, if you didn't notice, it is a blatant rip off of Repo! The Genetic Opera (without the musical component and heavy horror leanings). That's fine with me, though. If you can take a premise someone else came up with and execute it better, I say go for it (heck, even Shakespeare did this). But did the more recent film outdo the first? We're about to take a look. Using a highly scientific method of calculating quality by ranking various elements on a scale from 1 to 5 (1 being horrid, 3 being average, 5 being outstanding), I've made it my duty to settle the rivalry once and for all.

Great Scenes: The Monster and the Blind Man (Bride of Frankenstein)

I recently created a fanvid putting Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend,” to clips of (mostly) the famous scene in James Whale’s Bride of Frankenstein, in which the monster meets a blind hermit and the two become friends. This was a strange experience for me because, despite having seen the film many times and already holding a fondness for that scene, somehow as I began working with it, taking it apart, and rearranging it, it became even more touching to me than it had been.
