'Plan 9' Remake Trailer Released ... Impressive!
Darkstone Entertainment has released the first trailer for their upcoming remake of Plan 9 from Outer Space, the science fiction flick generally considered the worst film of all time.
The footage looks surprisingly good, presenting Plan 9 as an honest-to-goodness sci-fi/horror film rather than a campy parody, à la Mars Attacks! There seems to be plenty of intense zombie mayhem and a good bit of gore, too, a stark contrast to the original's handful of nauseatingly tame undead.
It's clearly not totally devoid of humor, however. Throughout the trailer we hear, via a home radio, bits of Jeron "Charles" Criswell's hilariously incompetent intro- and outro-ductions from the original movie -- lines like, "We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives," and, "God help us in the future."
According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, Darkstone has filmed only the segments shown in the trailer and plans to begin filming the remaining bulk of the film in April of 2010.
