No New 'Superman' Film Anytime Soon
We've recently been discussing a slew of problems facing the Superman franchise, including the fact that the co-producers of the film franchise are no longer legally allowed to get near each other, as well the legal developments that would force DC to begin filming soon if they want to make a Superman movie devoid of tangle-ups involving the rights to the character. Now, Diane Nelson, head of DC Entertainment, the new Warner Bros./DC Comics company, recently told MTV that there are no plans for a Superman film in the near future. She stated, "We've obviously done a lot of great things behind the property in our history, and it's a key part of the family, but we don't have current plans behind Superman."
While this will come across as a disappointment to many, it is almost definitely for the best. With these problems plus the other business DC currently has on their plate, such as their upcoming Green Lantern film, which is running into its own problems, the company may not have been able to focus due attention on a Superman film. Better to have no movie at all than one that doesn't do justice to the franchise.

Life long Superman fan
I’ve been a Superman fan all my life. I tried never to miss an episode of the TV show in the late 50s. I even had an official Superman suit when I was a kid. It was a one-piece outfit that buttoned up the back and came with a black & white pamphlet featuring Superman warning kids who wore the suit not to jump off roofs. Only Superman can fly!
Although it would be fun to see a new Superman movie, I think it is wise that DC decided to put things on hold, at least for now.
The funny thing about the
The funny thing about the note on that suit is that it probably was a serious legal disclaimer.
