Fans of 'Sarah Connor Chronicles' Make Billboard, Drive it Around L.A.

As Sci Fi Wire reports, on Monday a group named Save the Sarah Connor Chronicles drove a billboard on the back of a truck around L.A. in order to build support for their cause. Save the Sarah Connor Chronicles is a group of fans dedicated to the revival of the recently canceled Terminator TV spinoff, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The Billboard reads "No fate but what we make," "Bring back the Sarah Connor Chronicles," and "Take back the future." This comes the day before the release of the series' second, and supposedly final, season is released on DVD and Blu-ray.

The billboard truck drove back and forth on a route that passes the studios of Universal, Warner Bros. (including their offices), NBC, and Disney/ABC. On Tuesday, the group plans on driving the truck past CBS, E!, Variety, and CNN, as well as a few popular tourist locations. On Wednesday, the last day of this part of the group's campaign, the truck will spend the day on the first route again.

This is quite an impressive stunt for a fan group funded totally by donations and merchandise sales. As we've seen with Futurama, fan efforts like this do have the power to bring back canceled series at times. It will be interesting to see if this group's campaign pays off. It's quite possible that enough buzz will be generated not only to rally fans but to make non-fans interested in the series. The latter is what will really be needed to reverse Fox's decision to cancel the show.

On a related note, stay tuned later this week (or early next) for our full review of the show's Season 2 DVD release. [Update 9/24/2009: Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances, we're going to be unable to review the Season 2 DVD set. Our apologies. We'll be back next week with more DVD and Blu-ray reviews.]

Warner Bros

The fans are mainly trying to get WB to continue the series. WB produced the show, so if anything they'll be the ones to continue it. Fox is out of the picture at this point. A third season would be amazing, but a direct-to-dvd movie is more realistic at this point.

WB produced the show, but,

WB produced the show, but, unless I'm mistaken, Fox was the company to effectively cancel it, as they decided not to air a third season. So, yes, WB could produce another season, but unless Fox reverses their decision, WB would have to find a new station to air the show.

Fans

It's awesome that fans care enough about this excellent show to go to these lengths to save it.

I need this show back TSCC spoiled me for regular mediocre programming.
