Comic Book Author Mark Millar to Direct a Superhero Film

Comic book writer Mark Millar has announced through his website, Millarworld.tv, that he will be taking a seat in the director's chair for the first time and that it will be for a superhero movie. According to Millar, details will be released in February, and "this is one of several big surprises planned for next year."

Millar has written a number of superheros, including Superman, The Flash, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, but none of these seem to be the subject of his film. The writer (now also director) states that his film is being privately funded and will be sold after it is made. This is to provide him with maximum artistic freedom. We don't even know for sure whether it will be a science fiction film, but the majority of properties he has worked on do fall within the genre, so we'll be following this until he confirms otherwise.
