The Future of 'Dollhouse' Looks Grim

Things aren't looking good for Dollhouse. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reports that inside sources have told him that the show will be going on a mini-hiatus for the month of November.

What makes this really bad, though, is the reason for the break. Ausiello claims that Fox is taking the program off the schedule because of the November sweeps, the process of assessing the number and type of viewers tuning in to shows. In other words, the studio does not feel that they need this information for Dollhouse. The most likely reason for this is that they do not plan on carrying the series beyond their promised thirteen episodes.

Dollhouse will return in December, apparently for its last hurrah. It will reportedly be aired in back-to-back episodes on its Friday night spot.
